Gord Johns Calls for Extension of Wage Subsidy to Support Workers at Hardest-Hit Businesses
Small businesses and the people who run them have worked hard to survive the pandemic and keep the economy running.
As the tourism season comes to an end, many businesses are unsure if they can continue to keep staff working in the coming months. And business owners are saying that it could take years to recover from the financial impact of the pandemic.
If that wasn’t challenging enough, in many parts of the country we’re seeing a second wave of the virus forcing small businesses to remain closed.
Canadians are counting on this government for help.
The Prime Minister must extend the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy until the spring of 2021 to assure people that they will have a job to return to when it’s safe to reopen and ensure businesses survive this crisis.
